Laser Hair Removal - Phase II
.
I have just returned from my 2nd laser treatment on my beard hair. I asked the Clinical Director if he objected to me writing of my experiences on the TG Forum, and he said that he would welcome the exposure. He's very T friendly, and asked if he could talk with Cindy Martin about his services. The staff is courteous and polite, and I didn't feel that I was being examined as something odd.

When the Clinical Director examined my face at the start of the session, he said that there had been quite a bit of clearing for my first treatment. I wondered if the fact that I was taking Androcal, a testosterone blocker, and premarin, estrogen, might have something to do with it. I asked why are these treatments so much more effective now than the earlier versions. He said the new lasers and techniques have been able to narrow the focus of the laser to hair removal only, and be able to concentrate most of the energy to the hair root. At any one time, hair will be at one 3 stages of hair growth, the anagen stage, the catagen stage, and the telogen stage. The laser will only destroy the hairs in the actively growing anagen stage, which is why multiple treatments are necessary.

I don't know if this session hurt less because I knew what to expect or if there was less to zap, nevertheless, it was not as difficult an experience, nor did it take nearly as long, about 15 minutes this time. Recovery from the red face was 30 minutes after the treatment. I am looking forward to the next session and clean up those other spots. Only time will tell the lasting effect or staying power of the treatment.

I must say that there is a remarkable change in the way I look at my face now. Before this trip I looked to see how much of my beard was gone, which looked like about 75% gone from the 1st treatment. Now I look at my face and see how much is left to zap, and there are only 2 areas I've seen, one about the size of a quarter on the left side of my chin, and one the size of a dime on the right side of my chin. The only reminder that I've got a beard is the scraped corners of my mouth caused my shaving there, and hopefully those will become only a bad memory. Below are shots taken 3 days after the 2nd treatment, without shaving. Hope to see you all again soon. Feel free to e-mail me at allison4456@tgforum.com if you have any questions.
