Making Up Is Hard To Do
Allison Daniels
I started writing articles here when Cindy asked me if I would like to share some of my beauty tips on this site. I was flattered, but I was so new to the journey that I had no clear idea of how to present myself. As a result, I began talking about the procedures I was going through to give myself have a more feminine appearance. It took practice and experience to come up with a method of presentation that suited my personality and how I wanted to appear to the community. I have tried many different techniques, had several makeovers, and eventually developed a "look" that was comfortable for me. I call it my "wash and wear look," because I have not come to love spending hours painting my face before going out. Here are three great tips that my friend Fiona has shared with me, and she allowed me to share with you, Skin Care, Lipstick, and Eyeliner.

Skin Care

The best, and the worst.

The worst enemy of skin is sun. When outside for any prolonged time you should always wear sun block. The good ones will both moisturize and give protection from the sun

If you are outside En Femme, your foundation will also be rated as a sun block, Look at the bottle to check the rating. It usually is SPF 5 or 10.

The best thing you can do to preserve your skin is water. Really, it is. You should make yourself drink at least 4 full glasses of water per day, six is better, but four will work. If you drink coffee or alcohol, try to drink water after.

If you have rough spots on your hands or feet, before you go to bed at night, coat your hands or feet with a good moisturizer, and then don white cotton gloves and/or socks.
In the morning you will be on the way to soft and smooth.

A hat of any kind, having a bill, or brim, will help. For summer when En Femme, consider wearing a big floppy hat. You can decorate it with flowers, or ribbons, it can be a real attention getter.

Invest in some cold cream. Use it as a makeup remover, or on your face at night. It's cheap and it should be part of every girl's kit. It's a great moisturizer.

Smoking depletes the skin of oxygen, and causes discoloration and wrinkles. If you must smoke, try to drink more water to offset the effect.

Many people sing the virtues of Vitamin E The best way to get it on your skin is to buy a basic moisturizer. Then take a Vitamin E capsule, nip off the end, and squeeze it into your moisturizer, then shake the bottle like crazy.

If you live in a dry climate, or if you keep all the windows closed, try a humidifier at night while you sleep. It will re-hydrate your skin.

You can get tinted moisturizer, it is very light, but it can be a base for your foundation.

Here is a very good organic overnight hydrator.

Mix the contents of a Chamomile Tea Bag, with a teaspoon of Vegetable Oil, and a tablespoon of Sesame Oil. Apply the mixture to face and neck, and wipe off any excess.
Leave it on overnight and rinse off with warm water in the morning.

Some moisturizers simply float on your skin. Find one that is absorbed. You might have to try several until you find one that's good for you.

Moisturizer can be used all over your body. Don't overdue it, generally a little goes a long way.

Lipstick

Put your Lipstick on with a smile!

Here's what you will need.

Lipstick in your favorite shade
Lip Pencil in the same, or slightly lighter shade
Lip Brush
Good Mirror

Using your lip pencil. Start in the middle, at the bow, of your upper lip. Carefully draw your outline from the center out to the corner. At the top draw your line slightly outside your natural lip line, as you get 60 % (approximately) of the way to the corner, fade your line inward to your natural line, to the corner. Now do the other side of your upper lip the same way.

Now go to your lower lip. Using your pencil, start in either corner. Draw your line following your natural lip line until you get to the middle of your bottom lip. Just before you get to the middle, drop your line below your natural line to produce a pout.

Load up your brush and covering your outline, fill in your lips. It might take two coats to get it just right.

For an added thrill, use lip gloss, you can get colors, shimmer or clear.
