HOSPITALIZATION Normally, the surgery is performed on a Monday or Tuesday.  Therefore, you enter the hospital around 7 p.m. on Sunday.  The following Friday you leave the hospital for the week-end.  You are re-examined the following Monday to remove the vaginal stent and the urinary catheter.  You must remain another 2 to 3 days in Montreal to master your vaginal dilations. SURGICAL TECHNIQUE I perform the inversion technique.  The penile skin is inverted to create the vagina (vaginoplasty).  When the penis is too short, I use the excess skin from the scrotum (graft) to have a sufficient amount of skin for the vaginoplasty.  The clitoris is made from an innervated island of the glans (sensate clitoris).  In fact, part of the glans is pedicled to the dorsal nerves and vessels of the penis (island flap) shaped to construct the clitoris.  COST The total for the surgery, anaesthesia, hospitalization, transportation at your arrival at Montreal and return to the airport and residence care is $ 9,500.00 U.S.  Once a date has been set for the surgery, you must send a $ 600.00 U.S. deposit for GRS scheduled on Monday or Tuesday and $ 1,400.00 U.S. deposit for GRS scheduled on Thursday  within the following 15 days or the date will not be reserved.  Also, if you decide to cancel your surgery less than 6 weeks prior to the date set, your deposit will not be returned.  The balance due is payable three weeks before your surgery.  All payments must be made in cash, certified check or bank draft to CLINIQUE DE CHIRURGIE ESTHETIQUE ST-JOSEPH..  If you want a to consult prior your surgery, the fee will be $ 50.00 U.S..  This will be deducted from the total amount at the time of the surgery.        YOUR STAY IN MONTREAL Your stay in Montreal should be about 14 days:  2-3 days before the operation, 5 days in hospital and finally 7 days after leaving the hospital. To make your stay more agreable and secure, we have set up a residence specialized in the field of transsexualism.  They supply transport, lodging and meals.  Do not forget that post-operatively you will need help and it is the only place where you will receive adequate, professionnal care.  The adress of residence care is 20, Chemin des Iles Yale, St-Eustache, Qc. J7P 5M6.  Phone number : (450) 472-0263.  The name of this residence is La Maison de l’Ile.  Three weeks before your surgery, we ask you to confirm with the office if you are arriving to Montreal by plane, train or auto, the date of your arrival, the time of arrival, airline or carrier, flight or train number.  Please note if you have a criminal record, may be you will have to buy a visa at your arrival at the airport to be allowed to stay in Canada (presently $ 90.00 U.S.). Will you be traveling alone or with an other person who wants to stay with you at residence?  The cost for this person is $ 100.00 U.S. (including taxes) by night.  When we will confirm your date of surgery, we will send you a form to complete for these informations.

ADDITIONAL SURGERIES  If you wish a voice surgery at the same time of your G.R.S., it will be 2,905.00 $ U.S. more. If you wish an additional surgery at the same time of your G.R.S.(e.g. breast augmentation, adam’s apple shaving, nose, eyelid surgery, etc.) you must contact my office and we will give you the additional information and cost for these surgeries.
